The Society’s principle aim is to record, collect, protect and promote the local history of Lake Macquarie and its surrounds.
The Lake Macquarie & District Historical Society is a not-for-profit non-government organization that relies on donations and member contributions.
New members required to assist with the day-to-day running of the Society, eg. data collection, filing, computer skills, photography (to record now events), bookkeeping, fund raising events, community awareness.
Benefits of Membership:
1) Unlimited access to the extensive archives 2) Up to date information from affiliated bodies 3) Opportunity to meet like minded people 4) Help with your research project 5) Newsletter when available Membership fees are set at the Annual General meeting in March each year. Membership year is Feb to Jan.
There are two categories of membership, Single $20, Couple $30
A once-off joining fee of $5.00 applies
Our General Meetings are held in The Heritage Centre, Old Toronto Railway Station, Victory Pde/Row, Toronto. Below Toronto Hotel on the waterfront.
The 2nd Wednesday of each month at 1pm
